The operating model comes to live in Malaysia

Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia has opened its new headquarters in Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur, bringing the 13 brands within its network under one roof.

The move aims to enhance collaboration and maximise business opportunities across the group.

The new office launch was officiated by Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific chief executive officer Nick Waters, Dentsu Branded Agencies and Dentsu Media Asia-Pacific chief executive officer Takaki Hibino, Denstu Aegis Network South-East Asia chairman and chief executive officer Dick van Motman and Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia chief executive officer Nicky Lim.

“This is a milestone in the development of Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia. Our global network’s ‘One P&L’ per country collaborative operating model has been a steering force in our performance in recent times, and bringing all 13 brands and more than 400 employees together was necessary.

“As one network in one market operating from one office and sharing one vision, the ‘Power of One’ will ensure that we stay at the forefront, and drive us to unleash a whole range of innovative and integrated solutions for our clients,” Lim said.

Located in Damansara Heights, the headquarters takes up Level 8 to 12 of Wisma Guocoland Damansara City and hosts all of Dentsu Aegis Network’s agencies – Carat, Vizeum, Media Cubic and Media Palette; creative services agencies – Dentsu LHS, Merdeka LHS, Dentsu One and Isobar; as well as digital and specialist agencies – Consider iProspect, Columbus, Dentsu Sports Asia, Posterscope and psLIVE.

“Our heritage-themed office proudly celebrates Malaysia’s melting pot of culture and diversity, timely indeed as Malaysia celebrates its 59th National Day this month,” Lim added.

On the grand opening, van Motman said, “What we do has never changed; we build brands and business through engaging with consumers. How we do it in a world where you can be everywhere instantaneously, always connected, requires different skill sets but above all, different mindsets.

“The way we work and bring the best talent together seamlessly makes that come alive.

“Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia is one of our flagship operations and I’m pleased to see that under Lim’s leadership they are once again manifesting this. I think our new headquarters signifies another growth cycle.”

Waters added that the group’s operating model was to manage all its agencies as one business under one P&L.

“This encourages cross-disciplinary teams to collaborate freely to develop and execute integrated solutions for clients, based on the right strategy for the client rather than what an agency wants to sell.

“Being in the same building removes geographic barriers to better collaboration and creates new opportunities,” he explained.

Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia has more than 400 talents across 13 agency brands.

As part of its corporate citizenship initiative, the new office launch was in support of Johor Area Rehabilitation Organisation (JARO), a charitable NGO that serves as a rehabilitation centre and training workshop for the physically challenged and the visually, mentally and hearing impaired.

JARO empowers the disabled community by offering employment opportunities as well as equipping them with skills in tailoring, basketry and book-binding, among others.

Guests who attended the launch took home various handicraft handmade by JARO members, courtesy of Dentsu Aegis Network.
